STANDING DESK
Standing Desk proposes a design for a flat-packed desk which can be reconfigured for use both standing and as a presentation stand. The components are designed to be machined out of two standard sheets of 2440 x 1220mm x 18mm plywood and slot together without mechanical fixings or adhesives. The design is modelled at 1:10 scale and a fragment of the connection between the tabletop, stiffener and leg is modelled at 1:1. The components have routed slots, enabling dissassembly and simple re-assembly, with the legs doubling as tabletops when configured as a standing desk. This design is then re-imagined in 35 Table Transformations through the lens of Allan Wexler, conducting a series of physical transformations to an image of the table to re-conceptualise it as a piece of furniture considering possible means of recycling the product at the end of its life.
